Novelle Wa is a lens-based visual artist and photographer based in London and Hong Kong. Rather than documenting real-life moments, her work visualises personal and psychological experiences through staged and symbolic narratives. Her images are guided by clear intentions and predetermined themes, reinterpreting internal landscapes through carefully selected subjects, settings, and symbolic elements.

With a background in psychology and social work, her practise is grounded in an interest in how inner states can be translated into compelling visual language. Her works often present a reimagining of introspective experiences, exploring themes such as social repression, identity, and the complexities of the human psyche.

Expanding beyond photography, she incorporates installation, printmaking, and moving images to extend the conceptual dimensions of her work. Through this interdisciplinary approach, she invites viewers into a reflective space shaped by poetic reinterpretations of the inner self.
